Soundtracks of life

Every event worth remembering should have a soundtrack attached to it…life is just better that way.

For me, music is always in the background. Working, writing, reading, coding, everything has a soundtrack.

For example. Stephen King’s ‘The Langoliers‘ (the short story is brilliant, the TV movie is pure rubbish), will always have Soundgarden’s Black Hole Sun as the soundtrack. This is something personal…something that was playing in the background on a loop while I was reading particularly interesting parts of the story. So now, if I re-read the story, the song comes back. Mark Lanegan — ‘Revolver Part 2‘, ‘One Hundred Days‘, ‘Come To Me‘, ‘One Way Street‘, ‘Strange Religion‘.

Zero-7 — The older stuff — ‘Somersault‘, ‘Warm Sound‘, ‘Distractions‘.

Rolling Stones — ‘Gimme Shelter‘ — playing on loop for a solid 5 hours one day — but The Departed still sucked…

Godsmack — ‘Serenity‘, ‘Voodoo‘, ‘Spiral‘.

Pearl Jam — ‘Smile
